Over the last few years kill committee’s Dyson has been writing and recording an album with some of our favourite people. We wouldn’t normally allow this, but he didn’t tell us, and now we can’t do much about it. Turns out it’s actually very good. The band is The Gymkhana, and it’s odd in most of the right ways. Anyway, they’re playing their first gig soon so why not come and see them. We’ll all be there. Here’s a bit about it. Back in March we played a gig at @thehopeandruin which was almost certainly our last gig of 2020. Looks like the hope and ruin is opening again which is good at least as it’s a great place. Music is important. Luckily for us we are so unsuccessful as a band that we don’t rely on it for our income, but there are others who do. It’s hard enough to make money in the music industry and it’s all had to stop since March. How many artists could have had that big break in that time? Had that life changing festival experience? Made thousands of new fans on a tour of their first record? Some facts here too about how important the live music industry is to the economy. And finally a couple of pictures of us, because it’s our page and we want to remember a time when we could see each other and play. #letthemusicplay
